Lord of holiness,
You spoke to Aaron and his sons,
entrusting them with the priesthood,
with the weight of the sanctuary,
with the responsibility of bearing guilt
on behalf of the people.
What a fearful calling,
what a sacred trust.

O God, teach me to take seriously
the call You have placed on my life.
Whatever task You have assigned me,
whether public or hidden,
make me faithful.
Let me not treat holy things lightly.
Guard me from laziness,
from carelessness,
from half-hearted devotion.
For to serve You is no small thing
it is a weight,
but a weight filled with glory.

You gave the Levites as a gift to Aaron,
helpers in the work of ministry.
Not rivals, not competitors,
but brothers standing beside him.
Lord, give me such a spirit of service.
Make me eager to support,
not to supplant.
Teach me that greatness in Your kingdom
is not grasping for position,
but bending low in service.
Let me find joy in being part of the body,
content to play my part,
grateful to share the burden.

And You, Lord, provided for them.
Offerings, firstfruits, sacrifices
all were given so that Your servants
would not lack.
For You Yourself declared,
“I am your portion and your inheritance.”
O God, let this be enough for me.
Strip me of the illusion
that security lies in possessions.
Teach me to trust that if I have You,
I have all.
You are my portion,
my cup,
my inheritance forever.

Father, You arranged it so that
Your house would be served,
Your priests would be supplied,
Your holiness would be guarded.
It was not by accident,
but by design.
So order my life, Lord.
Place me where You will.
Provide for me as You see fit.
And let my heart rest content
not envying another’s portion,
not despising my own,
but rejoicing that You are mine,
and I am Yours.

So here I am, Lord:
Your servant,
Your possession,
Your child.
Take my life into Your service.
Provide what I need for the task.
And let the testimony of my days
be this simple confession
The Lord is my portion,
and He is enough.

In the name of Jesus,
my great High Priest
and eternal inheritance,
Amen.
