1 Samuel 12 – The God Who Remains Faithful When We Falter

Prayer

Lord God,
You are the God who confronts with truth
and comforts with grace.
Samuel stood before Israel
with integrity and clarity.
He reminded them of Your faithfulness,
their rebellion,
and Your mercy that endured both.

You are the God who calls sin by name
without abandoning Your people.
You thundered from heaven,
not to destroy them,
but to awaken them.
Fear fell,
repentance followed,
and grace remained.

Lord, I confess how easily
I forget Your past faithfulness.
How quickly fear convinces me
that obedience costs too much.
Forgive me for doubting
the God who has never failed me.

You are the God who does not forsake
even when we choose poorly.
Samuel promised to pray for the people,
to teach them the good and right way.
You reminded them
that though they had sinned,
You would not abandon them
for the sake of Your great name.

Teach me to cling to that promise, Lord.
When regret weighs heavy,
when consequences linger,
remind me that Your mercy is deeper still.
Help me fear You, serve You,
and trust You with my whole heart.

You are the God who remains faithful
when we falter.
So I return to You again
not because I am strong,
but because You are steadfast.

Amen.
