Lord God,
You are the Judge of all the earth,
the King whose throne is righteousness,
whose decrees are truth,
whose justice is not swayed by bribe or bias.
You commanded Israel to bring their hardest cases before You,
to seek Your will where wisdom fails,
for You are the source of perfect discernment.
You are the God who hates corruption
who rejects blemished offerings,
who exposes hidden sin,
who demands that truth be upheld
even when it wounds pride or position.
You are not impressed by sacrifice without sincerity,
nor by power without purity.
Your judgments are right altogether.
I confess, Lord,
how easily my sense of justice bends toward self.
I excuse what favors me,
condemn what threatens me,
and call it righteousness.
Forgive me for my double standards
for offering You partial obedience
and expecting complete blessing.
Purify my motives, O Lord,
until I love truth more than victory,
and integrity more than approval.
You commanded Your people to investigate diligently,
to establish every matter by two or three witnesses.
You care for justice that is careful,
for truth that is proven,
for righteousness that does not rush to condemn.
So teach me patience in judgment,
charity in discernment,
and courage in truth.
Let me speak neither too quickly nor too quietly
when Your justice is at stake.
You said that kings must not exalt themselves above their brothers,
nor multiply horses, wives, or wealth.
Even rulers must remember they are ruled.
So keep me humble, Lord,
wherever You entrust influence or authority.
Let me never lead for self gain,
but for Your glory and the good of Your people.
When I am tempted to build my own kingdom,
remind me that every crown belongs at Your feet.
You commanded that the king should write for himself
a copy of the Law
to read it all his days,
that his heart might learn to fear You
and not turn aside to the right or to the left.
O Lord,
make me such a person.
Let Your Word be ever before me
not as mere text,
but as living covenant.
Let it govern my desires,
temper my judgments,
and shape my leadership,
whether in home, in church, or in quiet obedience unseen.
You are the God of justice and pure worship.
You do not separate what is right from what is holy,
for both flow from Your nature.
So let my worship be honest and my justice compassionate.
Let my heart bow before Your altar
and my actions bear witness to Your righteousness.
And when I am tempted to rely on worldly strength
the chariots of Egypt,
the treasures of men
remind me that true power lies in submission,
true wisdom in humility,
true greatness in obedience.
You are the King above all kings,
the Judge of every judge,
the Lawgiver whose Word endures forever.
So rule my heart, Lord.
Write Your statutes within me.
Let me do what is right and love what is true,
until justice rolls down like waters
and righteousness like an ever flowing stream.
In the name of Jesus,
the Righteous Judge and the Servant King,
Amen.
