O El Shadday, God Almighty,

We fall before You not with polished words or proud hearts, but with trembling hands and tear-stained faces. You are the God who thunders from Sinai and whispers in the cave. You are the One who told Abram,

“I am El Shadday; walk before me and be blameless.”

Genesis 17:1

And yet You are the same One who walks with the broken, binds the wounded, and draws near to the crushed in spirit.

“The Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves the crushed in spirit.”

Psalm 34:18

You are God All-Sufficient, the One who needs nothing but gives everything. Before the mountains were born or the earth was formed, from everlasting to everlasting, You are God.

“Before the mountains were brought forth, or ever You had formed the earth and the world, from everlasting to everlasting You are God.”

Psalm 90:2

The heavens declare Your glory, the skies proclaim the work of Your hands, but even they cannot contain the fullness of who You are.

“The heavens declare the glory of God, and the sky above proclaims His handiwork.”

Psalm 19:1

You uphold the universe by the word of Your power, and still, You stoop low to wash feet and touch lepers.

“He upholds the universe by the word of His power.”

Hebrews 1:3

“Then He poured water into a basin and began to wash the disciples’ feet.”

John 13:5

“And Jesus stretched out His hand and touched him, saying, ‘I will; be clean.’”

Matthew 8:3

Who is like You, El Shadday? Strong enough to split seas, yet tender enough to count our tears.

“You have kept count of my tossings; put my tears in Your bottle. Are they not in Your book?”

Psalm 56:8

You are not a distant deity. You are the Breath in our lungs, the Rock that is higher than we are, the Anchor of our soul.

“Then the Lord God formed the man of dust from the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life.”

Genesis 2:7

“Lead me to the rock that is higher than I.”

Psalm 61:2

“We have this as a sure and steadfast anchor of the soul.”

Hebrews 6:19

We bring You our wounds—some self-inflicted, some still bleeding, some buried deep. You do not turn away. You are the God who heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds.

“He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds.”

Psalm 147:3

You know what we need before we even ask, and yet You invite us to pour it all out—to wrestle, to weep, to knock until the door opens.

“Your Father knows what you need before you ask Him.”

Matthew 6:8

El Shadday, we confess: we are not enough. Our strength fails. Our hearts wander. Our hands fall limp. But You are enough. You said to Paul,

“My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.”

2 Corinthians 12:9

And so we boast, not in success or self, but in You—in the power of the Cross, in the blood of the Lamb, in the sure hope of resurrection.

Lord Almighty, You see what others miss. You saw Hagar in the wilderness when no one else cared. You provided a well in her despair, and she named You El Roi—the God who sees.

“So she called the name of the Lord who spoke to her, ‘You are a God of seeing.’”

Genesis 16:13

You are not blind to injustice. You are not silent in suffering. You are El Shadday, the Mighty One who acts at the appointed time.

“Is anything too hard for the Lord? At the appointed time I will return to you.”

Genesis 18:14

And so we wait. We wait like the watchman for morning. We wait like Hannah for a child. We wait like Mary for a Savior. And in the waiting, we worship.

“My soul waits for the Lord more than watchmen for the morning.”

Psalm 130:6

“She was deeply distressed and prayed to the Lord and wept bitterly.”

1 Samuel 1:10–11

“My soul magnifies the Lord, and my spirit rejoices in God my Savior.”

Luke 1:46–47

Teach us to trust when the way is dark,

To sing when the night is long,

To believe even when the fig tree does not blossom and the vines yield no fruit.

“Though the fig tree should not blossom… yet I will rejoice in the Lord; I will take joy in the God of my salvation.”

Habakkuk 3:17–18

Let our faith rise not because we feel it, but because You are worthy.

El Shadday, breathe on these dry bones. Shake what needs to be shaken. Burn what must be burned. Revive what is dead. Let the same power that raised Christ from the grave dwell in us.

“Behold, I will cause breath to enter you, and you shall live.”

Ezekiel 37:5

“If the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you… He will also give life to your mortal bodies.”

Romans 8:11

Let the same voice that calmed the storm speak peace over our chaos. Let the same hands that broke the bread lift us and feed us again.

“He awoke and rebuked the wind and said to the sea, ‘Peace! Be still!’”

Mark 4:39

“And He took bread, and when He had given thanks, He broke it and gave it to them.”

Luke 22:19

You are El Shadday—our Shield, our Defender, our Shepherd, our King.

You do not sleep.

You do not fail.

You do not lie.

You are God Almighty, and You are with us.

“Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God.”

Isaiah 41:10

So we surrender every fear, every idol, every bitter root.

We place it all on Your altar.

You are enough, O El Shadday.

You have always been enough.

And You always will be.

In the mighty name of Jesus, our Savior and soon-coming King,

Amen.
