Lord God,
You are the Covenant Maker and Covenant Keeper,
the God who alone is worthy of undivided worship.
When Joshua gathered the tribes at Shechem,
he spoke as a shepherd giving his last charge.
He recounted Your faithfulness through the generations
from Abraham’s calling,
to deliverance from Egypt,
to victory in Canaan.
And then he laid before the people
a holy choice
“Choose this day whom you will serve.”
No middle ground, no divided heart
for You, O Lord, are jealous for the love of Your people.

You are the God who deserves our undivided worship.
You have proven Your goodness beyond question,
Your mercy beyond measure.
You fought for Israel when they could not fight for themselves.
You gave them cities they did not build,
vineyards they did not plant,
and rest they did not earn.
You have done the same for me
salvation I did not deserve,
grace I could never repay,
and presence I could never have purchased.
Every blessing whispers the same truth:
The Lord has been faithful.

I confess, Lord,
that I am prone to wander.
My heart builds small altars to comfort and control,
to success and self.
I serve You with my lips
while offering my time and trust to lesser gods.
Forgive me, O God,
for worshiping halfway,
for dividing devotion between heaven and earth.
Cleanse my heart of rivals.
Break the idols I have built in secret.
Teach me that sincerity without surrender
is still rebellion.
You deserve my all.

You are the God who calls for covenant renewal.
Joshua set up a stone beneath the oak at Shechem,
a witness between You and Your people
that their “yes” might not fade with time.
Lord, let my life bear such a witness.
Let my confession not be mere emotion,
but enduring commitment.
Let me live daily with this vow in my spirit:
“As for me and my house,
we will serve the Lord.”

You are the God who writes faithfulness into generations.
Joshua’s story ends not with conquest,
but with covenant.
You showed that the greatest victory
is not the taking of land,
but the keeping of faith.
You buried Your servant in the land of promise,
a symbol that what You begin, You finish.
Even death cannot erase Your faithfulness.

So, Lord,
let me serve You wholeheartedly until my final breath.
Let my children see my faith not in words,
but in ways.
Let my home echo with worship,
my work reflect integrity,
and my life proclaim that there is no other God but You.
May every choice I make
declare where my allegiance lies.
And when my journey ends,
let it be said of me as it was of Joshua
“He served the Lord faithfully all his days.”

You are the God who deserves undivided worship
the One true King,
the Rock of salvation,
the everlasting Covenant.
My heart is Yours,
my house is Yours,
my future is Yours.

So today, and every day,
I choose You.
Not for comfort,
not for reward,
but because You alone are worthy.

In the name of Jesus,
the Greater Joshua,
who sealed the new covenant with His blood
and reigns forever as Lord of all,
Amen.
