O El Roi, The God who sees me in my frailty (Genesis 16:13), Elohim, Mighty Creator of the heavens and the earth (Genesis 1:1), Ancient of Days (Daniel 7:9), the One who formed us from the dust and breathed into us the breath of life (Genesis 2:7).
You see us, O God not from a distance, but with the tender gaze of a Father who stoops to lift the fallen (Psalm 145:14), the Redeemer who calls the outcast by name (Isaiah 43:1), the Savior who bore our shame and carried our grief (Isaiah 53:4–5).
We come before You, El Roi, as children seen, known, and loved, redeemed by the blood of Your Son Jesus Christ (Ephesians 1:7), clothed in His righteousness (2 Corinthians 5:21), held securely in Your mercy (Psalm 103:17).
You, O El Roi, see every tear we cry (Psalm 56:8), every prayer whispered in hidden places (Matthew 6:6), every burden too heavy for us to bear (Matthew 11:28–30). And yet You do not turn away; You draw near to the brokenhearted (Psalm 34:18), and You bind their wounds with hands pierced for our healing (John 20:27).
Mighty Creator, You spoke the stars into being (Psalm 33:6) and yet You see the sparrow when it falls (Matthew 10:29). How much more do You see us Your beloved ones, bought with blood.
O El Roi, plant our feet on the Rock that is Christ (Psalm 40:2). Anchor our wandering hearts in Your unshakable Word (Hebrews 6:19). Etch upon our souls the relentless truth of the Gospel (Romans 1:16) That we are loved because You are love (1 John 4:10). That we are redeemed because You are mighty to save (Zephaniah 3:17). That we are victorious because Christ has overcome (John 16:33).
Breathe life into dry bones once more (Ezekiel 37:4–6). Awaken the sleeping (Ephesians 5:14). Strengthen the fainthearted (Isaiah 40:29). Make us brave not because we are fearless, but because You, El Roi, have seen us, chosen us, and go before us (Deuteronomy 31:8). Tear down every altar of pride, comfort, and self (Exodus 20:3–5). Purify us in the fire of Your holiness (Malachi 3:2–3), until nothing remains but Christ, shining in us. O God who sees, let us cry with Your Son "Not my will, but Yours be done." (Luke 22:42) Do not let us settle for empty religion (Isaiah 29:13), but rend the heavens and come down (Isaiah 64:1). Walk again among Your people (Genesis 3:8); fill Your Church with the fire of Your Spirit (Acts 2:1–4), until the nations sing and every knee bows before Jesus Christ (Philippians 2:10–11).
O El Roi, El Shaddai, Elohim Mighty, Faithful, Merciful, Just We are Yours (Isaiah 43:1). Seal us for the day of redemption (Ephesians 4:30). Until that day, may we walk in the power of the risen Christ (Philippians 3:10), forgiven, fearless, beloved Children seen, known, and cherished by the Living God (1 John 3:1).
We pray in the matchless, victorious, all-seeing Name of Jesus Christ, our Savior, our Shepherd, our King. Amen.
