Holy Father,
You are love pure, unshaken, eternal.
And yet, in this world of noise,
so many voices rise
some from You
some from the pit.
Lord, give me discernment.
Teach me to test every spirit.
Let me not be swayed by charisma or comfort,
but by the truth that confesses Jesus Christ
God in the flesh, crucified and risen.
Let me not fall to the spirit of the age
the antichrist spirit that denies Your Son.
Keep me anchored.
You said I am from You.
You said I have overcome.
And I believe
because He who is in me is greater
than he who is in the world.
The world does not speak for me.
Its wisdom is hollow,
its counsel corrupt.
But I belong to You.
Your Spirit speaks truth,
and I know Your voice.
Father, teach me to love
truly, sacrificially, wholly
not as a virtue signaler,
not as a performance,
but as one born of You.
Because love is from You.
Because You are love.
You proved it.
You showed it.
You didn’t wait for my love
You sent Your only Son
so I could live through Him.
This is love
not that I loved You first
but that You loved me
and gave Jesus as the atonement for my sin.
God, if You loved me like that,
how can I hold back love from anyone?
Let me not just talk about love
let me bleed for it.
Let me be it.
I want Your love perfected in me.
I want to abide in You,
and I want You to abide in me.
Holy Spirit, You have come.
You dwell in me.
So let me live and move and breathe in the confidence
that Jesus is the Son of God
and that You are not far You are within.
God, I know and believe the love You have for me.
But sometimes I still fear.
Sometimes I still doubt.
So Lord, perfect me in Your love.
Your Word says perfect love casts out fear.
So cast it out.
Drive it out.
I don’t want to live under the shadow of punishment.
I want to stand in the light of grace.
Because You first loved me,
I will love.
And if I say I love You but hate my brother
I am a liar.
Make my love real, Lord.
Let me love my brother whom I can see,
so I may truly love You whom I cannot yet see.
Let my life be shaped by this command
If I love You,
I must love my brother.
And by this wild, unselfish, relentless love
may the world see You.
In Jesus’ name,
Amen.
