Holy God,
We bow before You in wonder and gratitude, for You have not only redeemed us through Christ but have chosen to dwell within us. You are the God who said, “I will live with them and walk among them, and I will be their God, and they will be my people” (2 Corinthians 6:16). And in Your mercy, You have fulfilled this promise through the mystery revealed: Christ in us, the hope of glory (Colossians 1:27).
Lord, we confess that too often we strive to do before we remember who we are called to be. Yet, as Tozer so powerfully reminded us, in Christ, “the verbs to be and to do follow each other in that order.” Teach us, O God, to abide in You first—to be rooted in our identity as new creations (2 Corinthians 5:17), so that our actions may overflow from the life of Christ formed within us.
We long, not for hollow religion, but for true transformation. Make us holy as You are holy (1 Peter 1:16). May Your Spirit form in us the likeness of Your Son, that we may become living expressions of Your love, Your truth, and Your righteousness. “Let this mind be in us, which was also in Christ Jesus” (Philippians 2:5).
God, You always act like Yourself. You are unchanging in essence, character, and purpose (Hebrews 13:8). When You came in flesh, veiled yet fully divine, You did not cease to be holy—“harmless, undefiled, separate from sinners” (Hebrews 7:26). Let that same holiness radiate through us—not because of our strength, but because Christ lives in us and we no longer live for ourselves (Galatians 2:20).
Help us walk worthy of this calling. Not in perfection, but in surrender. Not in self-effort, but in Spirit-filled obedience. May our lives be the flame that reflects the divine fire, even if dimmed in our frailty. Let others see Jesus in us—not merely in words, but in how we love, forgive, serve, and sacrifice.
We echo the ancient cry: “Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a right spirit within me” (Psalm 51:10). Conform us to the image of Your Son, until we shine like stars in a dark world, holding fast to the word of life (Philippians 2:15–16).
For Your glory alone, in the name of Christ who is our life.
Amen
