Lord God,
You are the Faithful One,
the Covenant Keeper whose mercy endures forever.
You raised up a people for Yourself,
rescued them from Egypt’s chains,
brought them through wilderness and war,
and planted them in a land of promise.
But when the generation of Joshua passed,
a new one rose who did not remember You.
They turned to idols
the gods of their neighbors,
the altars of their desires.
And You, O Lord, were grieved.

You are the God who feels the pain of betrayal.
Your love is not distant,
Your heart is not made of stone.
You wept as Israel wandered from Your covenant,
and still You weep when Your people trade Your glory for lesser things.
How tender is Your patience,
how deep Your compassion
that even when Your anger burned,
Your mercy still pursued.

I confess, Lord,
that I too have bowed at the altars of comfort and approval.
I have forgotten the battles You won,
the prayers You answered,
the grace You gave so freely.
I have been quick to seek Your blessings
and slow to remember Your holiness.
Forgive me for chasing shadows
when Your presence is the light I need.
Forgive me for calling compromise “wisdom”
and for naming disobedience “balance.”
You, O Lord, deserve my full devotion
not what is left over,
not what is easy,
but all that I am.

You are the God who disciplines because You love.
You handed Israel over to their enemies,
not to destroy them,
but to draw them back.
Even Your judgment was mercy in disguise.
When the cries of Your people rose again,
You raised up judges deliverers shaped by grace.
Through them You showed
that Your faithfulness does not end where ours fails.

So, Lord,
teach me to hate the sin that grieves You.
Let my heart break where Yours breaks.
When I grow numb to rebellion,
pierce me with conviction.
When I am tempted to drift,
anchor me with Your Word.
And when I fall,
lift me with the reminder that Your covenant stands firm,
not because I am faithful,
but because You are.

You are the God who grieves compromise
and yet never abandons His people.
Your mercy follows me through every failure,
Your Spirit calls me back from every wandering.
Do not let my heart grow cold
or my worship become routine.
Let repentance run deep,
and renewal begin again today.

For You, O Lord,
are the Faithful Redeemer
slow to anger, rich in steadfast love,
and forever worthy of my obedience.
Turn my heart fully toward You,
that I might serve You without mixture or reserve,
and live each day as one who remembers the God who saves.

In the name of Jesus,
the Righteous Judge and Merciful Savior,
Amen.
