Lord God,
You are the Rock
steadfast when all else shifts,
faithful when all else fails.
You are perfection without flaw,
justice without error,
truth without shadow.
Your ways are righteous altogether.
You are the Rock of Ages,
the foundation beneath every promise,
the refuge for every generation.
You gave Moses a song,
a witness and a warning
a melody of Your faithfulness
and of Israel’s forgetfulness.
You called heaven and earth to listen,
to hear the words of Your mouth,
to let Your teaching “fall like rain”
and Your words “distill as dew.”
Even Your rebuke drips with mercy,
even Your correction refreshes the soul.
You sing not to shame,
but to summon hearts home.
I confess, Lord,
that I have sung of Your goodness with lips,
while my heart wandered in lesser loves.
I forget the Rock who bore me,
the God who purchased me at great price.
I grow proud in blessing,
and blind in comfort.
Forgive me, Lord,
for forgetting the song of grace
when life grows loud with self.
Teach me to remember
to trace every mercy back to Your hand,
to see every sunrise as a verse of Your faithfulness.
You raised up Israel,
fed them honey from the rock and oil from the flint.
You gave them abundance
and yet they grew fat and forsook You.
O Lord, how easily blessing becomes blindness!
How quickly abundance breeds apathy!
So guard me, God,
from prosperity that dulls worship,
from comfort that kills dependence.
Let gratitude anchor me where success might drift.
Let humility keep me near the Rock.
You declared, “Vengeance is Mine, and recompense,”
for You alone judge rightly.
Your justice is not born of rage,
but of righteousness that defends the oppressed.
You repay not out of spite,
but to restore balance to what sin has broken.
So, Lord, help me to rest in Your timing.
Teach me not to take vengeance into my own hands,
but to trust that the God who sees
will also set things right.
You promised, “The Lord will vindicate His people.”
Even when they provoke You,
You cannot forget them.
Your compassion burns brighter than their rebellion.
You are the God who disciplines to restore,
who wounds to heal,
who humbles to save.
Your mercy, Lord, is relentless
a melody that never ends.
You told Moses to climb the mountain,
to behold the land he would not enter,
and there to rest in Your promise fulfilled.
Even in death, You gave him sight.
Even in discipline, You gave him peace.
O Lord, help me to trust You
when You allow me to see what I will not yet touch.
Teach me to worship not only for what You’ve given,
but for who You are.
Your faithfulness stands higher than every fulfilled dream.
You are the God of the song
whose truth rains down like melody,
whose mercy flows like verse,
whose covenant endures like chorus through the ages.
Let my life become a harmony to that ancient tune.
Let gratitude be my refrain,
repentance my rhythm,
and praise my unending verse.
You are the Rock
immovable, unchanging, eternal.
You were faithful to Moses on Nebo’s peak,
faithful to Israel through generations,
faithful still to me.
So I will sing of Your steadfast love
and make Your faithfulness known to all who listen.
Though my voice falter,
Your song continues
and when my strength is gone,
my soul shall echo still
“The Lord lives, and blessed be my Rock,
and exalted be the God of my salvation.”
In the name of Jesus,
the Cornerstone rejected and risen,
the Eternal Song of the Redeemed,
Amen.
