Lord God,
You are the God who governs the seasons
the One who sends the early rain and the latter rain,
who makes the ground fruitful
and the heart faithful.
You call Your people to love You,
to keep Your commands,
to walk in Your ways,
and You promise that blessing will follow obedience.
You are the God who ties heaven and earth together
whose spiritual laws shape the soil beneath our feet.
When Your people love You wholly,
the land rejoices.
When they turn away,
the skies turn silent.
You are not a distant Sovereign,
but an intimate Provider,
teaching Your children through the rhythm of rain and drought.
I confess, Lord,
that my obedience too often depends on the weather.
When life is easy, my devotion wanes;
when the clouds darken, my faith falters.
Forgive me for serving You for the sake of blessing,
instead of blessing You for the sake of love.
Teach me that obedience is its own reward,
that intimacy with You is worth more
than all the abundance of the land.
You called Israel to remember what their eyes had seen
Your mighty hand in Egypt,
Your fire on Sinai,
Your victories in the wilderness.
So too, Lord,
remind me of what You have already done.
Let remembrance be the root of obedience,
and gratitude the guardrail of my heart.
For forgetfulness breeds rebellion,
but gratitude nourishes faith.
You commanded Your people
to bind Your words on their hands and foreheads,
to write them on their doorposts,
to teach them to their children.
So let Your Word frame my life, Lord
in my labor and my leisure,
my home and my heart.
Let Scripture not merely decorate my walls,
but dwell in my ways.
May every threshold I cross
be an altar to Your faithfulness.
You said, “I set before you today a blessing and a curse
the blessing if you obey,
the curse if you turn aside.”
You do not coerce, Lord;
You invite.
You place life and death before me
and call me to choose life.
Give me a willing heart,
a steadfast mind,
a soul that delights in saying yes to You.
You are the God who sends rain in its season
not too early, not too late
just when the earth is ready to receive.
So send the rain, Lord
the rain of repentance to soften hard hearts,
the rain of righteousness to refresh weary souls,
the rain of revival to make barren places bloom.
Where my heart has become dry with distraction,
water it with Your Word.
Where obedience has grown thin,
root it again in love.
O Lord,
make me faithful in the little things
steady when the skies are clear,
and steadfast when storms roll in.
Let obedience become worship,
and worship become the raincloud
that nourishes all who walk near.
For You are the God who keeps covenant,
who blesses the fields and fills the soul,
who reigns from heaven
yet walks among those who love You.
So teach me, Lord, to listen and obey,
to sow in faith and reap in joy,
to live as one whose every breath depends upon Your rain.
In the name of Jesus,
the Living Water,
who refreshes the faithful
and fills the thirsty,
Amen.
