Lord who finishes what You start,
on the first day of the first month,
You tell Moses to set up the tabernacle.
Every piece finds its place
the ark behind the veil,
the table with its bread,
the lampstand with its lamps,
the altar of incense before the veil,
the altar of burnt offering outside the entrance,
the basin between altar and tent.
Each item anointed with holy oil,
each consecrated for Your service.
Aaron and his sons are washed with water,
clothed in priestly garments,
anointed and set apart
to serve You in the sanctuary.
The work is finished
every detail made exactly as You commanded.
Then the cloud covers the tent of meeting,
and the glory of the LORD fills the tabernacle.
Moses cannot enter,
for the presence is overwhelming.
From that day forward,
the cloud rests on the tent by day,
and fire is in it by night,
visible to all Israel
throughout their journeys.
Lord, fill the house of my life with Your glory.
Let every part be arranged according to Your will,
every corner anointed for Your presence.
May my service be marked not by my own plans,
but by careful obedience to Your Word.
Be my cloud by day and my fire by night
guiding when I must move,
settling when I must stay.
Let my journey be shaped not by my map,
but by Your presence.
And thank You that in Christ,
the greater and final dwelling of God with man,
Your glory has not only filled a tent
it has taken up residence in us.
In the name of Jesus,
Immanuel,
God with us,
Amen.
