O God,
Fount of every blessing
I come thirsty, worn, aching for Your grace.
You are the spring of living water (Jeremiah 2:13),
and yet how often I’ve turned to broken cisterns,
seeking life in empty things.
Forgive me.

“Come, Thou Fount of every blessing,
tune my heart to sing Thy grace…”
Lord, my heart is out of tune.
The melody of grace is drowned by fear,
distracted by the noise of the world,
and hardened by wounds I’ve carried too long.
But You, O God You are still patient.
You are still kind.
You still pursue.

“Bind up the brokenhearted” (Isaiah 61:1).
Take these jagged pieces of me and make them whole.
Tune my heart again.
Make it soft.
Make it sing.

“Streams of mercy, never ceasing,
call for songs of loudest praise.”
Your mercy never runs dry
even when I’ve run far.
Even when shame tries to silence my voice,
You sing over me with love (Zephaniah 3:17).
You remind me that I am Yours.

But I confess, Lord
“Prone to wander, Lord, I feel it.
Prone to leave the God I love.”
Why does my heart stray from the One who satisfies?
Why do I chase shadows when You are the Light?
I hate how easily I forget You.
How quickly I trade Your peace for anxiety,
Your truth for lies,
Your presence for comfortless noise.

Still… You never give up.
You came running after me,
just like the shepherd who leaves the ninety nine (Luke 15:4).
You welcomed me, again and again,
with wounds in Your hands and love in Your eyes.

“Here I raise my Ebenezer;
hither by Thy help I’m come.”
Yes, Lord by Your help.
Not my strength.
Not my goodness.
You have carried me through storms I thought would break me.
You have lifted me from pits I dug with my own hands.
Every stone of remembrance I lay down is soaked in Your faithfulness.

So take and seal my heart, Lord.
Brand it with Your mercy.
Chain it to Your grace.
Don’t let me go.
Even when I wander, pull me back.

“Take my heart, O take and seal it,
Seal it for Thy courts above.”

I long for the day I’ll stand in Your presence,
no more wandering, no more weeping just worship.
Until then, I limp forward by grace.
Help me to sing.
Help me to trust.
Help me to remember.

You are the Fount.
You are the Shepherd.
You are the Savior.

And You are mine.

In Jesus’ name,
Amen.
