Heavenly Father,
We come before You with humble hearts, acknowledging Your greatness and Your authority. Your Word says, "God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble" (James 4:6), and we recognize that without humility, we cannot approach You. We surrender our lives to You, committing ourselves fully to Your will and control. We desire to walk in Your ways and follow Your lead, knowing that in You alone can we find true purpose and peace. "Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding" (Proverbs 3:5).
Lord, Your Word teaches us that we must resist the enemy who seeks to lead us astray. We stand firm in our faith, rejecting the temptations of Satan, and we ask for Your strength to overcome every attack. "Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you" (James 4:7). Keep us steadfast in Your truth, and help us to be vigilant against his schemes. "Be sober-minded; be watchful. Your adversary the devil prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour" (1 Peter 5:8).
We confess that we have fallen short of Your glory, Lord. "If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness" (1 John 1:9). We wash our hands and purify our hearts before You. Cleanse us from all unrighteousness, removing every stain of sin and replacing our desires with a deep hunger for Your purity. "Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a right spirit within me" (Psalm 51:10). We long for hearts that reflect Your holiness, hearts that seek only to please You.
Father, let our hearts be broken and sorrowful for our sins. "Let us search and try our ways, and turn again to the Lord" (Lamentations 3:40). We do not take our wrongdoings lightly, but we come before You in deep repentance. We ask for Your forgiveness and grace to wash over us, that we may turn from our sinful ways and draw near to You with contrite spirits. "The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit; a broken and contrite heart, O God, You will not despise" (Psalm 51:17).
We humble ourselves before You, Lord, knowing that when we do so, You lift us up in honor. "Humble yourselves before the Lord, and He will exalt you" (James 4:10). You promise to exalt the humble, and we trust in Your faithfulness to fulfill Your Word. May we always seek to glorify You, not in our own strength but through the power of Your Spirit. "It is not by might nor by power, but by My Spirit, says the Lord Almighty" (Zechariah 4:6).
Thank You, Lord, for Your unfailing love and mercy. We trust in Your promises and believe that as we draw near to You, You will draw near to us. "Draw near to God, and He will draw near to you" (James 4:8). May we walk in Your ways all the days of our lives. "I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you with My eye upon you" (Psalm 32:8).
In the name of Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen.
