O Sovereign Lord,
We bow humbly before You, as we reflect the words of Your Son in Mark 13, a trumpet call to Your people to wake up, to stand guard, and to endure to the end.
Lord, we confess that our hearts are often heavy with distraction, lulled into comfort, tempted by apathy. In a land so richly blessed, we have too often fallen asleep. Like Bethlehem that missed her King, may we not be found sleeping when You come again.
Stir us, O God. Shake us awake. Open the eyes of Your Church in America, that we would not trade eternal truth for temporal ease, nor prophetic urgency for political comfort.
Jesus, You warned us that many will come in Your name, that wars and earthquakes and trials will increase, but You also told us not to fear, for these are but the birth pains of Your coming Kingdom.
So, Lord, make us watchful servants, bold and unshaken, faithful in the waiting. Let our hearts not grow cold. May we not be like those people that cast You aside. O God, have mercy on us.
Revive Your Church.
Call Your servants to rise and shine like lamps in the night, trimmed and burning bright for Your return. Help us to live ready, not in fear, but in faith. Not asleep at the gate, but standing watch, sounding the alarm, and loving the lost. May we preach the gospel with urgency, give generously, serve sacrificially, and pray fervently.
Come, Lord Jesus. Find us faithful. Let not Your coming catch us unaware.
For the glory of Your Name. Amen.
