Father of Truth,
You see each heart.
You know every quiet act of faithfulness.
And You rejoice when Your children walk in the truth.
Like Gaius, let me be found faithful
not only in belief,
but in how I live,
how I serve,
how I welcome the ones You’ve sent in Your name.
Make my soul healthy,
so that my life and body may follow.
Let the wellness of my spirit be my truest strength.
Let joy rise in me when others testify not to my gifts,
but to my walk
that I walk in the truth.
God, You said there is no greater joy
than to know Your children walk in truth.
Let me be that joy to others.
Let me carry that joy for others.
Thank You for the missionaries,
the strangers who go out for the sake of the Name,
taking nothing from the world,
trusting only You.
Let me be a partner in their work.
Not just a giver
a fellow worker for the truth.
Keep me from the spirit of Diotrephes
the love of self,
the hunger for control,
the rejection of authority,
the fear of others who walk rightly.
Let me never slander.
Never shut out the faithful.
Never imitate evil,
even when it parades as strength.
Instead, Father, let me imitate good.
Because whoever does good is from You.
Let my life be a true testimony
one that agrees with the testimony of heaven and of Your Word.
Raise up more like Demetrius
men and women who are known
not by popularity,
but by integrity,
by consistency,
by truth.
Lord, I long for the day when face-to-face fellowship is restored
no more distance, no more delay.
Until then, grant me peace.
Let my love for the saints be real,
specific, personal
greeting each by name,
caring for each heart.
You are the God who writes our names in the Book of Life.
Help me greet others with that same love,
seeing them as You see them.
In the name of Jesus,
the One for whom we live,
Amen.
