Lord Jesus,
You speak in parables
mysteries wrapped in stories
calling me to listen deeply,
to open my heart beyond the surface.

I confess, too often I hear without truly hearing,
see without truly seeing.
My heart is like the hardened path,
where Your Word falls and is quickly stolen away.
Forgive me for my dullness, my distraction, my doubt.
Open my ears to hear Your voice clearly,
open my eyes to behold Your truth fully.

You speak of seed sown on rocky ground
sprouting quickly, then withering without roots.
Lord, don’t let my faith be shallow.
Plant deep in me a hunger for You,
a root that holds firm through storms and trials.
When the sun scorches and the troubles come,
may I stand unshaken, grounded in Your love.

You warn about thorns choking the seed
worldly worries, deceitfulness of wealth, desires that pull me away.
Lord, I lay down my distractions and my cravings.
Help me to uproot the thorns in my heart.
Make room for Your Word to grow strong and free.

Then there is the good soil
heart ready, open, willing.
I want to be that soil, Lord.
Ready to receive, quick to obey, willing to bear fruit.
Let Your Word produce a harvest in me
love that overflows, faith that moves mountains, hope that never fades.

You tell of the Kingdom like a mustard seed
small, unseen, yet growing beyond all expectation.
Help me to trust the small beginnings in my life,
the quiet prayers, the simple acts of obedience.
Grow them into something mighty for Your glory.

Jesus, You reveal secrets to those who truly seek.
I seek You now with a hungry heart.
Reveal Your Kingdom in me,
teach me to live by its values
to love fiercely, forgive freely, serve humbly, and trust completely.

Let me not be a hearer only,
but a doer of Your Word.
May my life be a living parable
of Your grace and truth.

I surrender my heart to You
soften it, prepare it, fill it.
Make me fruitful for Your Kingdom.

In Your holy and powerful name, Jesus. Amen
