Numbers 7 – The Offerings of the Leaders
Lord of glory,
one by one the leaders came,
each tribe, each name,
bringing their offering before You.
No gift was forgotten,
no tribe overlooked,
no service too small to record.
You remembered every detail,
every weight of silver,
every measure of flour,
every animal for sacrifice.
You are the God who sees
and who delights when His people give.
O God,
teach me to bring my offering with joy.
Not out of pressure,
not out of pride,
but because You are worthy.
Whether my gift is silver or service,
whether it is seen or hidden,
let it rise before You as worship.
Make my generosity an echo of Your own heart,
for You gave first,
You gave best,
You gave all in Your Son.
Lord, the offerings of the tribes were the same,
yet none were wasted,
none dismissed.
You treasured each one,
because it came from willing hands.
So remind me, Father,
that what matters most is not my uniqueness,
but my faithfulness.
Even if my gift resembles another’s,
even if my part seems ordinary,
You receive it as holy
when it is offered in love.
Day after day the leaders came,
and day after day You received their gifts.
Faithful worship,
faithful remembrance.
O Lord, make me faithful.
Teach me the beauty of steady devotion,
of returning again and again
to lay myself at Your feet.
Not just in grand moments,
but in daily surrender.
Let my life be a continual offering,
poured out drop by drop,
until all belongs to You.
And then, Lord,
when the gifts were given,
when the altar was anointed,
You spoke to Moses from the tent of meeting.
You revealed Your voice from between the cherubim,
above the mercy seat.
What wonder
that the God who receives offerings
is also the God who speaks!
So, Lord, as I bring myself before You,
speak.
From the mercy seat of Christ,
speak grace.
From the place of atonement,
speak forgiveness.
From the holy of holies within my heart,
speak Your presence and peace.
Take my offering, O Lord
my time, my treasure, my talent,
my weakness, my longing, my love.
Receive it as Yours.
And when You speak,
let my whole life answer
“Here I am, Lord.
All I am, all I have, is for You.”
In Jesus’ name,
the once for all sacrifice,
the greater gift,
Amen.
