Lord God,
You are the Faithful Finisher
the God who keeps every promise,
who fulfills every word,
who guides His servants to the end of their journey
and welcomes them home with glory.
You brought Moses to the mountain,
to Nebo’s height,
to see the land he had longed for.
You let him behold with his eyes
what his heart had believed for forty years.
You are the God who remembers Your word
and rewards Your servants with sight,
even when the promise lies beyond their reach.
You are righteous, Lord,
in all Your ways.
You disciplined Moses for his disobedience,
yet You did not discard him.
Even in correction, You were kind.
Even in death, You were near.
You Yourself buried him in Moab’s valley,
hidden from all but heaven.
What love is this
that the God who carved law on stone
now stoops to lay His servant to rest by hand.
You are faithful in life and faithful in death,
a Shepherd to the very end.
I confess, Lord,
that I struggle to accept Your timing.
I want to see all Your promises fulfilled in my lifetime.
I want to measure faithfulness by outcomes I can touch.
Forgive me, Lord,
for confusing my calling with control,
for demanding to walk where You’ve only asked me to trust.
Teach me that faith is not seeing the land,
but believing in the God who gives it.
Let me serve well,
even if I do not see the harvest.
Let me rejoice in promises kept for another generation.
You raised up Joshua in Moses’ place,
for Your work never depends on one man.
Leaders pass, but the mission of God endures.
You buried Moses,
but You kept Your word.
The story did not end on Nebo’s peak
it was only the prelude to fulfillment.
So help me, Lord,
to live and lead with open hands.
Let me celebrate what You begin through others,
and rest knowing that every faithful act
finds completion in You.
You are the God who fulfills His promise
and welcomes His servants home.
You let Moses behold the land of milk and honey,
but You gave him something better still
Your presence without veil,
Your glory without shadow.
You took him from the mountain of promise
to the mountain of eternity.
And there, in Christ,
the story would come full circle
for on another mountain,
Moses would stand again,
beside Elijah,
beholding the Son in glory.
So let me serve, Lord,
with eyes lifted toward that day.
Let me walk in faith even when I cannot see.
Let me lead as one who knows
that the goal is not a land,
but a Lord.
When my strength fades and my journey nears its end,
let me stand upon the mountain You appoint.
Let me see Your faithfulness from there,
and rest in the promise that what lies ahead
is greater still.
You are the God who finishes what He begins,
who buries His servants in mercy
and raises them in glory.
You write no unfinished stories,
for every word You speak finds its “Yes” in Christ.
So let me live and die in that assurance
that Your promises endure beyond my lifetime,
and Your presence remains forever.
“Blessed is the servant whom the Lord finds faithful.”
So make me faithful, Lord
in the climb, in the view, in the resting.
Until that day when faith becomes sight,
and the journey’s end becomes everlasting joy.
In the name of Jesus,
the Greater Moses,
who entered the true Promised Land
and prepares a place for His people,
Amen.
