Lord God,
You are holy utterly, fiercely holy.
You will not dwell in the midst of deception,
nor bless a camp that hides disobedience beneath its tents.
After Jericho’s triumph came Ai’s defeat,
and the people stood bewildered,
forgetting that victory without holiness is hollow.
You revealed what was hidden,
for the sin of one man poisoned the strength of many.
You are the God who searches hearts.
You see beneath the coverings we craft,
the excuses we stack,
the things we bury beneath our reputation.
Achan thought the silver was secret,
but the soil cannot hide what heaven sees.
You will not let compromise coexist with covenant.
You expose not to shame,
but to heal;
not to destroy,
but to cleanse.
I confess, Lord,
that I too have buried things beneath the surface.
Hidden thoughts, unspoken pride,
small disobediences I pretend are harmless.
Forgive me for stealing what belongs to You
the glory, the trust, the firstfruits of my devotion.
Forgive me for coveting what You’ve forbidden,
for hiding what I should bring into the light.
Search me, O God,
and know my heart.
Try me and reveal if there be any Achan in me.
Expose what hinders Your blessing,
so that holiness may dwell again in my heart.
You are the God who purifies His people,
who trades defeat for renewal.
You teach that the power of Your presence
depends on the purity of Your people.
You will not share Your glory
with what is stolen or secret.
But when confession comes,
You restore what was lost.
You turn ashes of judgment
into altars of mercy.
Lord, let me never fear Your discipline.
For though Your holiness wounds,
it is the wound that heals.
Though Your exposure humbles,
it is humility that invites Your favor again.
Better to be cleansed than comfortable,
better to be rebuked and restored
than to win without Your presence.
You are the God who exposes hidden sin
and offers cleansing through confession.
You discipline not to condemn,
but to restore Your people to Yourself.
Let me live transparently before You,
with nothing buried but my past,
and nothing hidden but Your Word in my heart.
So today I open every corner to Your light.
Search me.
Cleanse me.
Renew me.
Let my heart be a dwelling You delight in,
a place where victory no longer turns to defeat.
You are the God who exposes, heals, and restores.
Make me holy, Lord
not flawless, but surrendered.
And let me walk once more
under the banner of Your favor.
In the name of Jesus,
the Greater Joshua,
who bore my hidden sin in open shame upon the cross,
Amen.
