Ruth 4 – The God Who Redeems and Restores Generations
Prayer
Lord God,
You are the God who redeems fully and finally.
What began in famine
ends in fullness.
What began in death
ends in life.
What began with empty arms
ends with a child of promise.
You are the God who restores
not only individuals,
but generations.
You are the God who redeems publicly
what was once broken privately.
Boaz fulfilled redemption before witnesses,
declaring that restoration belongs in the light.
You erased shame.
You restored inheritance.
You turned loss into legacy.
Lord, forgive me
for believing my story ends
where pain begins.
Forgive me for limiting Your redemption
to what I can see in my lifetime.
Teach me to trust
that You are always working
beyond my horizon.
You are the God who brings life
out of long seasons of waiting.
Ruth bore a son.
Naomi held him close.
Bitterness gave way to praise.
And through that child
came kings.
And through those kings
came Christ.
Teach me to trust You with my legacy.
Redeem what feels wasted.
Restore what feels broken.
Use my obedience
to bless generations I will never meet.
You are the God who writes salvation
through ordinary faithfulness.
You turn loyalty into lineage,
obedience into history,
and faith into redemption.
So finish what You have begun, O God.
Restore what was lost.
And let my life testify
that You are faithful
from famine to fullness,
from loss to legacy.
In the name of Jesus,
our Greater Redeemer,
Amen.
