1 Samuel 25 – The God Who Intervenes Through Wisdom
Prayer
Lord God,
You are the God who intervenes
before anger becomes sin.
David burned with righteous fury,
wounded pride fueling his resolve.
Bloodshed felt justified,
and regret stood close behind.
But You sent Abigail
wisdom clothed in humility.
You are the God who uses courageous voices
to stop destruction.
Her words cut through rage,
not with force,
but with truth and discernment.
You spared David
from becoming what anger demanded
and from carrying guilt
he would have borne for life.
Lord, thank You for voices of wisdom
that interrupt me
when emotions surge.
Forgive me for resisting correction
when pride feels justified.
Make me teachable
before consequences are permanent.
Deliver me from decisions
I would later grieve.
Slow my spirit
when anger accelerates.
Guard my future
from moments of uncontrolled passion.
You are the God who protects us
not only from our enemies,
but from ourselves.
So intervene again, Lord,
and often
for Your mercy
is my safety.
Amen.
