O Elohim,
Mighty Creator of the heavens and the earth (Genesis 1:1),
Ancient of Days (Daniel 7:9),
The One who formed us from the dust (Genesis 2:7), breathed into our lungs the breath of life, and called us "very good" (Genesis 1:31).
We come before You as Your beloved children, redeemed by the blood of Jesus Christ (Ephesians 1:7), clothed in His righteousness (2 Corinthians 5:21), held forever by His mercy (Psalm 103:17).
Father, You who spoke galaxies into existence (Psalm 33:6) and yet stooped low to touch the leper’s wounds (Matthew 8:2–3), hear the cry of Your people (Psalm 34:17).
We are weary, bruised by the battle (Matthew 11:28–30), wandering in a wilderness that wars against our faith (1 Peter 2:11), and yet, in You, O God, we are not forsaken (2 Corinthians 4:8–9).
You, Elohim, are not distant (Psalm 34:18).
You stretched wide Your arms upon the cross, Jesus (John 19:18), bearing the weight of our shame (Isaiah 53:4–5),
crushing death under Your wounded feet (1 Corinthians 15:55–57), shattering the chains that bound us to hell (Colossians 2:14–15).
We come not in our strength — we have none (John 15:5) — but in the name of the Lamb who was slain (Revelation 5:12), the Lion who reigns (Revelation 5:5), the Savior who is coming again (Revelation 22:12).
O God Most High (Psalm 57:2),
plant us deep into the soil of Your Word (Colossians 2:6–7),
anchor our souls in the unshakable promises You have spoken (Hebrews 6:19),
etch upon our hearts the unrelenting truth of the Gospel (Romans 1:16):
that we are loved not because we are lovely, but because You are love (1 John 4:10).
That we are redeemed not because we are strong, but because You are mighty to save (Zephaniah 3:17).
That we are victorious not because we conquer, but because Christ has conquered for us (John 16:33).
Breathe life again into dry bones (Ezekiel 37:4–6).
Raise up a people who will not trade Your glory for lesser things (Jeremiah 2:11).
Strip away our idols (Ezekiel 36:25); tear down every altar we have built to self, comfort, and pride (Exodus 20:3–5).
Burn away the dross in the fire of Your holiness until only Christ remains (Malachi 3:2–3).
Bind the brokenhearted (Psalm 147:3), strengthen the weak (Isaiah 40:29), awaken the slumbering (Ephesians 5:14), embolden the timid (2 Timothy 1:7).
Make us as bold as lions (Proverbs 28:1), as gentle as lambs (Matthew 10:16), as steadfast as the ancient oaks planted by Your streams of living water (Psalm 1:3).
May the cry of our hearts echo the cry of Your Son:
"Not my will, but Yours be done." (Luke 22:42)
O Faithful God (1 Corinthians 1:9),
do not let us be content with hollow religion or empty motions (Isaiah 29:13).
Rend the heavens and come down (Isaiah 64:1),
walk among us as in the cool of Eden’s garden (Genesis 3:8),
fill Your Church with the fire of Pentecost once more (Acts 2:1–4),
until every knee bows and every tongue confesses that Jesus Christ is Lord (Philippians 2:10–11),
to the glory of God the Father.
O Elohim, Mighty Creator, Savior of sinners, King eternal (1 Timothy 1:17),
we are Yours (Isaiah 43:1).
Seal us for the day of redemption (Ephesians 4:30).
Until You call us home (John 14:3), may we walk worthy of the Gospel (Philippians 1:27),
forgiven, free, fearless — beloved sons and daughters of the Living God (1 John 3:1).
We ask all of this through the matchless, victorious, resurrected name of Jesus Christ,
the Name above every name (Philippians 2:9).
We pray in the precious name of Jesus Christ.
Amen.
