Lord Most High,
You gave the Kohathites the weight of sacred duty
to carry the ark, the table, the lampstand,
the altar, the vessels of ministry.
Not to touch directly,
not to gaze too long,
but to bear with reverence
what belonged to You.

O God,
teach me this trembling reverence.
Keep me from growing casual
with what is holy.
Your Word is not ordinary.
Your presence is not common.
Your name is not to be spoken
as if it were small.
Give me the heart of one who bends low,
who knows the difference
between what is sacred
and what is not.

Lord, the Kohathites could not choose their duty.
They did not design their task.
They carried what You gave them,
no more, no less.
So let it be with me.
Deliver me from envy of another’s calling.
Guard me from despising my own.
Help me to shoulder with joy
the service You assign
whether it feels heavy or hidden,
whether it looks glorious or plain.
For in Your kingdom,
faithfulness outweighs recognition.

You commanded that Aaron and his sons
cover the holy things
before they were carried.
Even in movement,
there was honor.
Even in transition,
there was care.
Lord, teach me to honor You
not only in the finished work,
but in the in-between.
When life is being packed up or torn down,
when I am between assignments or uncertain of direction,
let reverence mark my steps.

Father, the Kohathites bore on their shoulders
the weight of worship.
They carried what testified of You.
So too, You have given me a witness to carry
the treasure of the gospel in jars of clay.
It is weighty, Lord,
and I am weak.
But Your grace strengthens,
Your Spirit upholds,
Your presence goes with me.
Let me not stumble under this holy trust,
but walk worthy of the calling I have received.

So I pray
sanctify my hands for service,
sanctify my heart for reverence,
sanctify my shoulders for the burdens You give.
And when I grow weary,
remind me that Christ bore the heaviest load
the cross, the curse, the wrath
so that I might walk free,
yet gladly take up my cross to follow Him.

In His holy name I pray,
Amen.
