Creator God,
the first to design,
the first to build,
the first to rest,
You call by name Bezalel son of Uri,
filling him with the Spirit of God
with wisdom, understanding, knowledge,
and skill for all kinds of craftsmanship.
You give him the ability to work in gold, silver, and bronze,
to cut and set stones,
to carve wood,
and to accomplish every artistic craft.
You appoint Oholiab to assist him,
and You place skill in the hearts of all the craftsmen,
so that every part of the tabernacle
will be made exactly as You have commanded.
Even the holiest place on earth
is built by human hands
moved and empowered by Your Spirit.
But You also speak of rest.
You remind Moses that the Sabbath
is a sign between You and Your people forever
that in six days You made the heavens and the earth,
and on the seventh day You rested and was refreshed.
To profane the Sabbath is to reject Your covenant;
to keep it is to trust in Your provision.
Lord, teach me that the Spirit’s filling
is not just for speaking,
but for building, crafting, creating
that my work can be worship
when shaped by Your wisdom.
And teach me that rest is not laziness,
but an act of faith,
a visible declaration
that You, not I, hold the world together.
May my hands be ready to work
with skill You provide,
and my heart be willing to stop
at the boundary You set.
Let my labor be holy,
and my rest be worship.
In the name of Jesus,
through whom all things were made
and in whom our true rest is found,
Amen.
